A few months ago we hosted a book launch party for the new release ‘Cupcakes and Parties’ by Trophy Cupcakes. I have no idea how I forgot to post this adorable video that Joshua shot, but without further ado, here it is.  I mean, seriously … Cupcakes, crafting and champagne?! Could  there be a better recipe for fun?

#URBANICLOVE on instagram! post image

Okay guys, we have new idea brewing over here at Urbanic that we’re pretty excited about.  Thanks to Instagram, we often get to see your pictures of what you’ve picked out from the shop.  We love this so! –  and always look forward to seeing your posts pop up. Today we are officially starting a new hashtag for these pics called #Urbaniclove.  Here’s the best part:  Each month we’ll pick 4 photos to feature on Instagram + Parcel Post  (so style ‘em up pretty!).  Each instagrammer chosen will get a prize in the mail as a ‘thank you’ for being so awesome. You just need to tag us @urbanic + use the hashtag #urbaniclove in your post so we can see them.   We’ll be posting the first week of every month, so be sure to check back. Below is vol.1, a little round up of some of our New Year’s cards that were posted. Seemed like a fitting way to kick things off

How About … A Day at the Bay post image

Hi everyone, I have some fun news to share with you today!  We’ve just launched a fun collaboration with fellow paper enthusiast and amazing blogger, Nole Garey from Oh So Beautiful Paper.  Once a month, we’ll pop over to OSBP and post on our new ‘How About’ series. There we’ll share our latest obsessions, favorite things from around the shop as well as inspiration beyond. Last month, Joshua and I took the kids on a little roadtrip up North to San Francisco. We tasted and explored our way around the Bay City and packed in as much as we could. (ie. The Ferry Building, Bi-Rite Creamery, Tartine, the Golden Gate Bridge and of course the Cable Cars!) We were lucky enough to have some great hosts, and left the Bay completely inspired. Thanks for reading and hope you’ll love our new column!

Urbanic featured on Rverie post image

Screen Shot 2014-02-10 at 12-1.17.03 PM

It was such an honor to be featured in Rverie magazine this month. For any of you who aren’t familiar, it’s an uber stylish, digital magazine that explores the stories of creativity and craftsmanship in people places and products all around us.  In my interview with the the editor in cheif, Laura Piety, I spoke about our journey over these last 7 years. The ‘a-ha’ moment of starting the shop, our first location in a rented garage, taking a risk to sign a big lease, and juggling a new business with a surprise pregnancy. I shared a few tips on what I’ve learned along the way.  If you’re interested you can read the interview about Urbanic here.     xo *A
